The Texas Longhorns won their seventh straight game and remained undefeated at home as they defeated the Temple Owls 77-65. Temple had an eight-point lead during the first half and led 34-31 at the half, but Texas turned things around to outscore Temple in the second half by 15 points.
Neither team shot the ball particularly well as Texas was 46 percent and Temple was 45 percent from the field, but the one of the differences in this game was the free throw disparity. Texas made 23-of-35 free throws compared to Temple who made 10-of-20. Texas also was able to more than double up Temple in rebounding 46 to 20. The offensive rebounding edge was huge as well with Texas getting 16 extra chance shots from offensive rebounds to only three for Temple.
Temple's Khalif Wyatt did all he could to keep Temple in this game as he scored 24 points, but it was not enough to counter Texas' three players in double figures. Texas was led in scoring by J'Covan Brown who scored 23 points, Myck Kabongo scored 18 points and Jaylen Bond chipped in with 12 points.
