If the tone of Tyson Chandler's comments is indicative of his mindset, Mavericks fans had better prepare for his departure.
↵↵↵I really think I'm going to be on a new team come training camp. I'm really taking a hard look at all of my options, trying to see what best suits me.

That came Wednesday after teams were allowed to contact free agents under new NBA rules and it sounds like terrible news. Chandler has expressed disappointment in the Mavericks' lack of interest in re-signing him immediately after the NBA Finals. That Mark Cuban and Donnie Nelson didn't budge then is understandable, but Chandler doesn't sound like someone who is having his pants recruited off by his team.
↵It's hard to conceive of the Mavericks being a contender without Chandler. Though there are other options who may be available, Chandler proved to be the ideal compliment to Dirk Nowitzki and a porous perimeter defense. This feels a little too much like the last time Mark Cuban drew a budgetary line in the sand - with Steve Nash.
