Looks like the poaching of the Rangers front office that was avoided last winter has begun, as T.R. Sullivan says that Scott Servais will join Jerry DiPoto in Anahaim.
↵Servais has served as farm director as the Texas system has consistently been among the most highly ranked in baseball over the past few years. Given his background as a catcher, it’s been a little disappointing that he and his staff haven’t had more success developing guys like Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Taylor Teagarden, Max Ramirez, and Manny Pina.
↵While this is a blow, because Servais has done a good job here, Mike Maddux and A.J. Preller are still the two guys whose departures would severely hurt.
