Sullivan: Rangers Lose Scott Servais To Angels

Looks like the poaching of the Rangers front office that was avoided last winter has begun, as T.R. Sullivan says that Scott Servais will join Jerry DiPoto in Anahaim.

Servais has served as farm director as the Texas system has consistently been among the most highly ranked in baseball over the past few years. Given his background as a catcher, it’s been a little disappointing that he and his staff haven’t had more success developing guys like Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Taylor Teagarden, Max Ramirez, and Manny Pina.

While this is a blow, because Servais has done a good job here, Mike Maddux and A.J. Preller are still the two guys whose departures would severely hurt.
