Texas Basketball Score Update: Longhorns Lead Boston 31-21 At Half

Texas leads Boston University 31-21 at the half in their season opener. It’s been an uneven half, with Boston shooting 25% from the field (and just 3-14 from three-point range) and Texas shooting 37%.

The Longhorns have been led by J’Covan Brown’s 16 points on 6-11 shooting. Brown also has three rebounds and three assists for the Horns. Four freshmen – Julian Lewis, Sheldon McLellan, Jonathan Holmes and Myck Kabongo have Texas’ remaining 15 points. Alexis Wangmene is 0-3 from the floor, but he does have four rebounds and a blocked shot.

Boston has been led by D.J. Irving with six points on 2-6 shooting. The Terriers are outrebounding Texas 22-15 but have also ranked up 14 turnovers, while the Longhorns have given up the ball seven times.

This is Texas’ season opener, while Boston is playing in their second game, after losing their opener Friday 82-74 to Northeastern. The game can be seen online on LonghornNetwork.com.
