Three passing touchdowns by Brandon Weeden, three rushing touchdowns by Joseph Randle and a special teams touchdown to boot? All in the first half? That equals a 49-0 annihilation by the Oklahoma State Cowboys as the Texas Tech Red Raiders try to regroup after an awful first half.
Should Brandon Weeded begin receiving some Heisman votes? The quarterback is 23-28 passing the ball for 282 yards and the three scores. Touchdown catches by the 2010 Biletnikoff Award winner Justin Blackmon, Josh Stewart and Isaiah Anderson have left the Red Raiders secondary in disarray. Joseph Randle has been potent when touching the ball, as his three touchdowns have come on just 13 carries and 45 yards.
The Red Raiders have had little luck offensively as well, as two fumbles (one on special teams) and a Seth Doege interception have given the ball right back to the Cowboys offense.
Texas Tech was looking for another marquee win to get their program bowl-eligible, but now Tommy Tuberville has bigger task in front of him. Get your team to pick their heads up and go back out there and fight for another 30 minutes of action.
The No. 2 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys will receive the ball in the second half, and with the win will improve to 10-0.
