TCU Vs. BYU Final Score: Horned Frogs Hold Off Cougars At Cowboys Stadium

TCU was out-gained, out-rushed, out-passed. But BYU out-turnovered the Horned Frogs, and that helped TCU outscore the Cougars for a 38-28 victory at Cowboys Stadium.

Casey Pachall threw for two touchdowns, and the TCU running game churned up 136 yards and two more touchdowns, but it was TCU's defense that produced three BYU turnovers, stopped three fourth downs, and short-circuited three drives that reached the TCU 40 or better. And that defense, maligned all year, helped the Horned Frogs fend off a BYU team that outgained it by about 70 yards.

TCU playing turnover-free football helped, too, and the Frogs' general efficiency (touchdowns on its first two drives, and just 51 yards wasted on non-scoring drives) made up for that offensive deficiency.
