College Football Rankings: Oklahoma Falls To Third In AP Poll

Despite winning 62-6 on Saturday, the Sooners dropped to third in the latest AP Poll.

Despite a 62-6 drubbing of Ball State, the Oklahoma Sooners moved down in the latest AP Poll. The problem, though, is that Ball State is Ball State.

Alabama moved up to the No. 2 spot following their 38-10 win over the Florida Gators -- in Florida. The win is certainly much more impressive than Oklahoma's dismantling of Ball State at home in Norman.

Les Miles' LSU Tigers held onto the top spot in the AP Poll, as they waltzed to a 35-7 win over Kentucky.

Oklahoma, though, still did receive seven first place votes in the poll. LSU garnered the most with 40, and Alabama, obviously, was second with 12 first place votes. Boise State, ranked fifth, also received a first place vote.

The Sooners will have an excellent opportunity to move back into the top two this week, as the Sooners take on the No. 11 Texas Longhorns in the Red River Shootout. Certainly, a win over Texas would be much more impressive than Ball State.
