Two More 2011 World Series Previews

From two of the best Rangers writers out there.

One more from SB Nation to start with. This time, it’s our own Christopher Fittz at Lone Star Ball. So it’s a big one. His is of the feel-good variety, because optimism is awesome.

I don’t know if the Rangers will win this World Series. But I do know that this is the greatest Rangers team we have ever had the privilege of watching. Yes, even better than the 2010 Texas Rangers which is part of what makes reaching the same peak as a team we held so dearly last year so special.

Second is Prashanth Francis of Baseball Time in Arlington. His awesome preview follows the more in-depth statistical approach, because information is awesome.

The St. Louis Cardinals are a a very good team, especially on offense. However, the Rangers are a great team that is deeper at almost every spot and is also filled with two-way players that give the Rangers a clear advantage defensively. Very good teams beat great teams all the time in a short series, but considering how long and hard the road to get to the World Series is, you’re not going to see a bad team too often. Perhaps it isn’t the most ideal matchup, but the teams are probably close enough in talent for a decent series, and I can’t bring myself to be overly afraid for this Rangers team given what we’ve seen over the past seven months. It’s time to finish the task.

Read both. Seriously. Every word. One will make you an expert, the other will make you pumped.

Also, here is an animated preview from Next Media Animation:
