Dallas Cowboys standout OLB DeMarcus Ware missed practice with a back injury on Wednesday.
Ware experienced back spasms during last weekend's game against New England, although it didn't stop him from a dominating two-sack performance against a Patriot team normally excellent in pass protection.
He has flourished under new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan, who has moved him all over the field and put him in a position to get seven sacks in only five games. He's currently on pace for 22.5 sacks this season, which would tie the single-season record held by Michael Strahan.
Ware is not listed on the Cowboys injury report, so this may be more of a precautionary move than anything else.
If he is able to go at anything resembling full strength, he could have a huge week against a winless St. Louis Rams team that has already allowed 22 sacks and 46 QB hits, leading the NFL in both categories through six weeks.
