College Bowl Game Picks: Sugar Bowl

The Arkansas Razorbacks, Jerry Jones' alma mater, will make their BCS debut tonight in the Sugar Bowl when they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Sugar Bowl features two of the nation's best collegiate quarterbacks - Ryan Mallett of Arkansas and Terrelle Pryor of Ohio State.

Arkansas, who went 10-2 and 6-2 in SEC play, boasts the third-ranked passing offense in the country. Mallett threw for just under 3,600 yards and 30 touchdowns in the regular season. Those gaudy numbers translated into the 16th-best scoring offense in the country.

Ohio State (11-1, 7-1 in Big 10) is of course no stranger to the BCS stage. The Sugar Bowl marks the sixth consecutive BCS bowl appearance for the Buckeyes - who have had mixed success in that streak, going 2-3 thus far. The aforementioned Pryor threw for over 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns while rushing for 639 yards and adding another four touchdowns on the ground. The Buckeyes also boast the third-ranked defense in the FBS, allowing only 13.3 points per game.

The Buckeyes are three point favorites - but I'll take the Razorbacks to win. I trust Mallett more than I do Pryor - and I trust the SEC more than I do the Big 10. Plus, Jerry Jones has to win something this year, right?
