Stars Deal Fabian Brunnstrom To Leafs

Fabian Brunnstrom's disappointing, trying tenure with the Stars has ended, as Dallas traded the winger to the Toronto Maple Leafs for minor league forward Mikhail Stefanovich, a former fourth round pick. Brunnstrom had played in 99 games with Dallas his first two seasons in the U.S., but he's spent the entire season in Cedar Park, the Stars' AHL affiliate.

The Stars won a recruiting battle over the Leafs and Detroit Red Wings for Brunnstrom, but his offensive talent has not translated to NHL success. Dallas will settle for a little cap relief, as Brunnstrom is on a $675,000 contract. Stefanovich is not considered a serious NHL prospect.
