The Rangers have had a middling year in minor league player development, but the on-field results have been positive as the organization is sending six teams to the playoffs for the first time.
↵The AZL rookie league team and High-A Bakersfield have already ended their seasons, signaling a long awaited end of the Rangers' affiliation with the Blaze.
↵The Oklahoma City Redhawks will start a playoff series today. It will be the swan song in the Texas system for a successful franchise that has been an asset for the Rangers. The Rangers new affiliate will be the Round Rock Express in 2011.
↵It is safe to say that Jon Daniels will want Bobby Jones to make the trek south.
↵↵"Jonesey (Oklahoma City manager Bobby Jones) is the best in the game," Daniels said. "Year in, year out, he's one of the best guys in baseball period. You've got both young guys to handle and he deals with a lot of egos and guys not necessarily happy to be there. For him to win regularly, obviously speaks to the talent, but it also speaks to his ability to get the most out of his players."
