Following a narrow 31-29 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats, the Oklahoma Sooners remained stagnant in the latest college football rankings. The eighth-ranked Sooners remained eighth in the Week 5 AP Poll.
The Texas Longhorns fell from No. 7 to No. 21 in the rankings which would have resulted in the Sooners moving up to seventh if Oklahoma had won decisively over Cincinnati. Instead, the Florida Gators jumped from ninth to seventh, leapfrogging the Sooners following the Gators 48-18 drubbing of the Kentucky Wildcats.
Bob Stoops and Sooners will face off against Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry this weekend as the eighth-ranked Sooners will face off against the 21st-ranked Longhorns at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.
