Longhorns Routed By UCLA: An Impressive Streak Comes To An End

It’s back to the drawing board for Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns following their 34-12 loss to the UCLA Bruins on Saturday. Considering who’s up next on the schedule – the Oklahoma Sooners – there’s no time to feel sorry for yourself and dejected about all but certainly being eliminated from the National Championship picture. It may be a blessing in disguise for the ‘Horns to face OU this weekend. If there ever was a week each year when everybody was ultra-focused on the task at hand, it’s Oklahoma week.

One quick note about the Longhorns’ dropping 14 spots to No. 21 in the most recent college football rankings: the Longhorns had their streak of 18 consecutive weeks inside the top-10 snapped. It was the longest such streak in the nation.
