Jay Ratliff Expected To Return To Team On Friday

Even with his team desperate to get in the win column after an 0-2 start to the season, Jay Ratliff made the appropriate choice to be with his grief-stricken family following the tragic death of his grandparents last week. At the advice of his father reportedly, Ratliff opted to play last Sunday against the Bears, despite the devastating news that his grandparents had died in a house fire in Georgia just days earlier.

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said he fully expects Ratliff to be back with the team on Friday.

“Football is important,” Phillips said Wednesday in his press conference. “But there are more important things than football. I told him to take all the time he needs.”
