This is behind Baseball America's pay wall, so you'll have to be a subscriber to read the entire piece, but Evan Grant has selected Engel Beltre and Michael Kirkman as the Rangers system's top position player and pitcher for 2010.
↵↵↵If he realizes his full potential, its possible Beltre-acquired from the Red Sox for Eric Gagne-rather than Elvis Andrus or Neftali Feliz, may end up being the stud acquisition from the summer of 2007.
↵
↵↵Lefthander Michael Kirkman was ready to walk away from baseball at the end of 2007 after two years of control issues and injury problems. But after talking with his father, he decided to stick with it and the Rangers may forever be fortunate.

Beltre is probably the organization's top position prospect at the moment, but I can't imagine how he could be the player of the year ahead of Mitch Moreland. Same goes for Kirkman, who did have another breakthrough year but still had serious walk issues, and dominant Robbie Erlin. Grant did name as his "Keep An Eye On" player.
