The Rangers will open the defense of their likely AL West title next season at home, against the Boston Red Sox ... on a Friday - April Fools Day, to be exact. That April 1-3 series will be the first of two visits from Boston, with the second August 22-25 in the middle of the pennant race. Texas' likely AL Division Series opponent, the Yankees, will make their only visit to Arlington May 6-8.
The Rangers will face NL East foes for their '11 interleague schedule, beginning with a road visit to Philadelphia May 20-22 and picking up in late June with a trip to Atlanta. The standard home-and-home with the Astros will sandwich a visit from the Mets, and a visit from the Marlins June 1-3 will conclude the Rangers' NL series.
The team is at home once again for the popular Independence Day game, a part of Buck Showalter's return to town with the Orioles. Texas will conclude the season with the Angels once again, this time on the road, September 26-28, a midweek end to the season for the first time in years.
