TCU, coming off a 62-7 win over Tennessee Tech, remains No. 4 in both the AP and USA Today polls. The Texas Longhorns, who were extremely underwhelming in their 34-7 win over Wyoming, dropped out of the top five of the Associated Press poll - falling to number six as the Oregon Ducks moved into fifth spot. Oregon dismantled Tennessee, winning 48-17 on the road in Neyland Stadium. Texas held onto their No. 4 ranking in the USA Today poll.

The Oklahoma Sooners, despite thrashing the then 17th-ranked Florida State Seminoles, only moved up three spots in the AP poll from No. 10 to No. 7 - and only one spot in the USA Today poll from No. 10 to No. 9.
