Cowboys Impressed With Chris Gronkowski

Todd Archer offers a pair of posts today featuring the rising stock of fullback Chris Gronkowski. He mentions that Jerry Jones made a point of visiting Gronkowski.

“He just came over to me, telling me to keep working, that I see the hole good and I do a good job keeping my base and to keep working on my base. And that I remind him of Daryl Johnston. That’s always a good thing.”

Archer also gives us his 53-man roster projection and lists Gronkowski as the one fullback on the roster, ahead of Deon Anderson.

Because of John Phillips’ injury, the Cowboys will not be able to feature as many multiple TE schemes. Phillips was also able to fill in at fullback. This means that they will likely play more three-plus receiver sets, but it could potentially mean that the club keeps two fullbacks if the pair can offer enough special teams value.
