Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Michael Young hit a grand slam and David Murphy blasted a three-run homer, as the Texas Rangers pounded Seattle, 11-6, in the middle test of a three-game series at Safeco Field.
Nelson Cruz and Mitch Moreland both had two hits and knocked in a run for Texas, which won for only the second time in its last five games. The Rangers continue to hold an eight-game lead over Oakland in the AL West standings.
Adam Moore and Jose Lopez had two RBI apiece for the Mariners, who snapped a seven-game losing streak on Tuesday.
