Texas Rangers Acquire Jeff Francoeur From Mets

The Texas Rangers have acquired outfielder Jeff Francoeur from the New York Mets in exchange for infielder Joaquin Arias.

Arias played in 50 games for the Rangers this year, managing a .276/.290/.347 line in 98 at bats. He was designated for assignment on August 24.

Francoeur will be eligible for the playoff roster for the Rangers since he was acquired prior to midnight of the August 31 deadline.
