Rangers Reportedly Interested In Jeff Francoeur

There's a discussion over at Lone Star Ball about the reports of Jeff Francoeur likely heading to the Rangers.

Francoeur is not a good player, but he wouldn't necessarily be a bad addition to the Rangers. Similar to Adam, my first instinct was anger, but Francoeur really wouldn't be too bad of an addition. Over his career, he's been a good right fielder by any metric you want to use -- and has the reputation to back it up -- he has a .344 career weighted On Base Average vs. lefties; .324 this year (in Citi Field). It's not better than David Murphy has been against lefties in 2010, but it is much better than Murphy for his career.

If the deal gets done, and it isn't for anyone we'd care about, Francoeur would be nothing special, but he could be a nice platoon partner for Murphy, as well as depth that would let the ailing legs of Josh Hamilton and Nelson Cruz rest a little more often.

Just get use to seeing someone who swings at absolutely everything. EVERYTHING!
