Four key players – receiver Dez Bryant, safety Gerald Sensabaugh, linebacker Keith Brooking and defensive end Marcus Spears – have been cleared by the Dallas Cowboys medical staff to return to practice. Since Thursday’s game versus the Dolphins is not expected to feature many starters, the quartet’s availability for the final preseason game is unknown. If the four avoid setbacks, all will play in the season opener in Washington.
Bryant tweeted last night that he would be on the field Thursday:
Back in action Thursday night!!!!!
but Wade Phillips isn’t sure.
The remaining concerns all involve the offensive line. Marc Columbo is expected to begin practicing next week and may play in the opener, but Kyle Kosier likely won’t. Rookie Sam Young, who would not figure prominently on game day even if he does make the team, will miss 3-4 weeks after spraining his knee Saturday night.
