The All Stars from Pearland, Texas had their excellent run in Williamsport come to an end today as they lost in the national title game to the All Stars from Waipahu, Hawaii by a score of 10-0. Hawaii started their offensive attack from the get go on Saturday afternoon, scoring four times in the bottom half of the first inning to jump out to a 4-0 lead.
↵Texas was unable to get anything going after the first inning seemingly took the wind out of their sails entirely, managing only two hits in the contest. Hawaii added to the offensive attack in the third inning, scoring another three runs, before putting the mercy rule to use in the fifth inning by adding another three runs - making the score 10-0.
↵Ezra Helseki earned the complete game win for Hawaii in the the title game, pitching five shut out innings, allowing only two hits and a walk while striking out six.
↵Texas will live to play another game. They'll face Chinese-Taipei who fell to Japan earlier today in the International title game by 3-2 margin in extra innings. The game between Texas and Chinese Taipei will begin at 10:00 AM CDT and be aired on ESPN and ESPN3.com.
↵Hawaii will advance to face Japan in the World Series Championship game at 2:00 PM CDT on ABC.
