Little League World Series 2010: Pearland, Texas Falls To Auburn, Wash.

The Pearland, Texas Little League All-Star team had a chance to clinch a berth in the national championship game tonight but their efforts were thwarted by the All Stars from Auburn, Wash. Texas held a 4-1 lead headed into the bottom of the fourth inning when Washington scored four times to take a 5-4 lead. Washington went on to add a pair of insurance runs in the fifth to take a 7-4 lead -- a score that Washington would go on to win by.

Texas is not eliminated from Little League World Series contention. It will live to play another game on Thursday against the same Washington team that bested them on Wednesday night. The winner of this game will advance from Pool B and play in the United States championship game and have a shot to be crowned Little League World Series champions.

Coverage for the final game of Pool B between Texas and Washington will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN3.com at 3 p.m. CDT.

Earlier in Williamsport on Wednesday, the All-Stars from Waipahu, Hawaii eliminated the Hamilton, Ohio All-Stars by a 6-4 score. Hawaii will now need to defeat the Columbus, Ga. All-Star team twice in a row in order to advance to the United States title game.

The international field is now set as well, thanks to Chinese-Taipei defeating Chitre, Panama 5-1. Chinese-Taipei advances out of their pool and will face perennial Little League powerhouse Japan in the international title game. The winner of the Japan/Chinese-Taipei game will go on to face the United States champion for the Little League World Series crown.

The international championship game between Chinese-Taipei and Japan will be broadcast on ABC on Saturday at noon CDT.
