Ownership Committee, Executive Council Approve Greenberg-Ryan

The Texas Rangers are one hurdle away from finally being sold, close to a year after Tom Hicks decided to sell majority ownership of the club. Both the Major League Baseball Ownership Committee and the Executive Council voted to approve the ownership transfer terms outlined in the club’s bankruptcy auction. A final vote by all 30 MLB teams will be held tomorrow.

Commissioner Bud Selig made approval sound certain, saying “all is well that ends well.”
