The Denver Nuggets outbid the Dallas Mavericks for free agent Al Harrington late Tuesday night, giving him a five-year, $34 million deal. ESPN’s Marc Stein says that the depth chart didn’t hurt.
But Denver would appear to have a greater need for Harrington than Dallas, given that the Nuggets expect to start the season with Kenyon Martin and Chris Andersen unavailable after both recently underwent surgical procedures.
Dallas has now missed out on at least three targets for their midlevel exception: Mike Miller, Udonis Haslem and Harrington.
