Mavericks' Pursuit Of Al Jefferson Growing More Serious?

Tim McMahon of ESPN DFW blogs that it is time to consider how Al Jefferson could fit on the Mavericks roster. McMahon suggests that talks could be progressing past the initial stages.

Trade talks with Minnesota have progressed to the point where it's time to start speculating about how Al Jefferson would fit with the Mavs.

He'd be by far the best low-post scorer the Mavs have had during the Dirk era. He'd fill the Mavs' need for quality depth at power forward and center.

The Mavericks have had interest in using their best trade asset - Erick Dampier's non-guaranteed contract - in a deal for Chris Paul, but the realization that New Orleans will not trade the star point guard could nudge Dallas closer to something short of a dream scenario.
