Mavs News And Notes

The summer league is officially under way and after a couple of sub-par game one performances from Rodrigue Beaubois and Omar Samhan, the Mavericks bounced back nicely last night. Bryan Guiterrez over at mavsmoneyball has a nice recap of last night's game.

"I think I bring a lot skill-wise," he said. "Of course, I’m not very athletic. I’m a slow, white guy."

At least he’s honest.

Marc Stein has an update on the Mavs' pursuit of Al Jefferson

Mavs’ Jefferson talks have been more frequent but Wolves want draft picks WITH Dampier’s cap-friendly contract. Mavs offering neither

It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out; the Cavs are reportedly in the mix for Jefferson as well.

As Brett Perryman pointed out, Mark Cuban has emerged as a bidder for the Texas Rangers.

↵

No word on how or if this will effect the Mavericks in any way.

And finally, now that the "Super Friends" are in Miami, will the Mavericks/Heat game be played at the new Cowboys Stadium? Probably not.
