Tommy Hunter To Make 2010 Debut Saturday

According to Jeff Wilson of the Dallas Morning News, right hander Tommy Hunter will make his 2010 debut with the Texas Rangers Saturday in Arlington against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Right-hander Tommy Hunter has rejoined the Rangers for the first time since spring training after injuring his left oblique muscle and completing rehab stints in Arizona and Oklahoma.

He will start Saturday, replacing the injured Derek Holland in the rotation for at least two turns. Hunter doesn't begrudge his situation, realizing that injuries are part of life in the big leagues.

Hunter's last Major League appearance was October 3, 2009, against the Seattle Mariners. In six starts in Triple-A this year, Hunter has posted a 1-2 record with a 4.05 ERA, striking out 14 and walking 11 in 26.2 innings of work.
