Broaddus Reviews The RBs

ESPN’s Brian Broaddus moves on to his second position – running backs. He says that Marion Barber does look quicker, but he believes that Felix Jones needs to be on the field.

I am pessimistic about Barber. Review the years just past Ladanian Tomlinson’s, Eddie George’s, Emmitt Smith’s and others’ primes, and you will see optimism about those guys getting something back after healing from injuries. It is very uncommon that beaten-up backs do get it back, and though Barber isn’t approaching 30, he looks like one of these guys already. I hope that the coaches are prepared to go to Tashard Choice, rather than beating their heads against the wall, if Barber isn’t showing well early in the season.
