TCU To Open College World Series Against Florida State

The TCU Horned Frogs earned their first ever trip to the College World Series on Sunday with an upset win over the No. 2 overall team in the country, Texas. The celebration for the Horned Frogs should be over by now as the field for the College World Series was set when the Oklahoma Sooners upset fifth-ranked Virginia 11-0 on Monday night. Florida, South Carolina, Florida State, UCLA, Clemson and national top seed Arizona State round out the rest of the eight-team field headed to Omaha.

TCU will face Florida State on Saturday at 1 p.m. CST, the first game of the College World Series, which will be televised on ESPN. Matt Purke, who improved to 14-0 after striking out 11 Longhorns en route to a win in Game 1 of the Super Regional, will get the start Saturday.
