Kidd Has Beaubois Fever, Says He'd Be Willing To Come Off The Bench Next Season

New, 1 comment

In his rookie season with the Mavericks, point guard Rodrigue Beaubois was electric, scoring 7.1 points per game in just 12.5 minutes and shooting 51.8% from the field. That second number is a problem, though: because he was so erratic, coach Rick Carlisle couldn't rely on him very often, which cut into his minutes.

But he did enough to impress future Hall-of-Famer Jason Kidd, who told reporters during a conference call this afternoon that he'd be willing to come off the bench if it meant more minutes for Beaubois. From Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk:

"I would hope that's what we're shooting for, to develop Roddy this summer and to play him more next season," Kidd said. "I wouldn't be opposed to coming off the bench some next season."
