More Wins Than Reality

New, 4 comments

Despite losing the first game and spending a quarter of the series fielding a AAAA offense, the Rangers just won three of four against the Mariners by outscoring them 33-10. Yay.

The Rangers, obviously, put three more in the win column with that effort. But a shellacking like that needs some better context then merely three wins. After that game, the Rangers pythagorean record is now at 34-26. Coming in to the series, they sat at 29-25. Five wins in four games! Exactly four wins of that, to the decimal, were in the last three games. Just an attempt to make this series look a little more hilarious.

This is deja vu for the Mariners, by the way. See, I was inspired by this post at Halo’s Heaven by one Sean Smith (this guy, if you don’t know who that is), following the Angels 27-7 beatdown of the Mariners through three games. Bad stretch for Seattle.

By the way, the Rangers once made up three expected wins in one game.
