Three weeks ago, ESPN Chicago broached the notion that the Rangers and Cubs might have interest in a swap involving Chris Davis and a catcher - either Welington Castillo or Robinson Chirinos. Since then, the Rangers have signed Yorvit Torrealba to be their starter at catcher and brought back Matt Treanor to back him up. But the Davis side of the rumor has popped up again, this time including reliever Darren O'Day.

O'Day might be viewed by the Rangers as more expendable after the signing of Yoshinori Tateyama, another sidewinding righty. The return to Texas is obviously unclear.
