BCS Rankings: TCU Third In Final Standings

The final BCS standings of the 2010 college football season were unveiled Sunday night and there were no surprises at the top. As expected, Auburn and Oregon held onto the top spots and will face off in the BCS Championship game.

TCU's perfect regular season was only good enough to have them ranked third in the final BCS standings. The Horned Frogs will head to their second straight BCS bowl game and will look to atone for their 2010 Fiesta Bowl loss against the Boise State Broncos.

Oklahoma is the highest ranked Big 12 school, coming in at No. 9 in the final BCS standings. The Sooners won the Big 12 title game on Saturday when they defeated Nebraska and will head to Glendale, Arizona to participate in the Fiesta Bowl.

The BCS bowl bound Connecticut Huskies failed to crack the top 25 of the BCS standings, but the Huskies will head to the Fiesta Bowl because they won the Big East title. This is something that will likely make critics of the BCS system cry foul and further advocate a playoff system.

The BCS bowls will kick off on New Year's Day with the Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl.
