College Bowl Game Predictions

We're still in the slow portion of the college bowl season with only two bowls having been played this week thus far and one bowl being played tonight. San Diego State University will essentially host the Navy Midshipmen in the Poinsettia Bowl.

Earlier this week, Louisville came from behind to defeat Southern Mississippi by a 31-28 margin to win the Beef O Brady's Bowl at the Trop in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Unfortunately for me, I picked the Golden Eagles to win this game. Still, this was a fairly entertaining game in which the Cardinals came back from a two touchdown deficit in the second quarter to win the game.

Last night, as expected, the Boise State Broncos rolled past the Utah Utes 26-3 in the Maaco Bowl in Las Vegas. Utah led 3-0 after the first quarter before Boise decided to rattle off 26 unanswered points and add the Maaco Bowl trophy to the hardware case up in Idaho. While it's always nice to end the season with a bowl win, it still has to be disappointing to a team that had national title aspirations from the get-go this year to win the Maaco Bowl. Still, the Broncos went 12-1 this year and there's certainly no shame in that.

So far, I'm 1-1 on the week. I picked Navy to beat the Aztecs earlier this week and I'm sticking by that prediction tonight. The Aztecs are three point favorites, so it's a bit of an upset pick. I'm also sticking by my predictions of Hawaii over Tulsa in the Hawaii Bowl and Florida International over Toledo in the Little Caesars Bowl.
