Cuban: "No Truth" To Carmelo To Mavericks Rumors

New, 1 comment

Responding to last night's rumors that the Dallas Mavericks were set to enter the Carmelo Anthony sweepstakes, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban said that there is "no truth" to the rumor. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Cuban was furious over the rumors:

When Cuban read the report, he was furious. His team is 23-5 going into the Christmas break, and he knows it would be risky to upset the Mavs' chemistry by bringing in another All-Star player.

"If [Berger] is going to make things up, the reporter should at least be honest enough to say he is making things up," Cuban said. "Not one grain of truth to anything he said.

The rumor included the Mavericks sending expiring contracts to Denver along with another player - perhaps Rodrigue Beaubois or Tyson Chandler.

Those rumors can be put to rest if we are to take Cuban at his word. Anthony figures to end up either in New York or New Jersey if he is traded by the Nuggets before the trade deadline.
