Tommy Tuberville Up For Miami Job

Texas Tech first-year coach Tommy Tuberville, fresh off of a 7-5 season - but just 3-5 in the Big Twelve - has spoken with the University of Miami about their head coach opening.

Miami athletic director Kirby Hocutt returned Wednesday after two days in New York discussing the vacant UM coaching job with prospective candidates.

Among the coaches who have spoken to Miami about the job are Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen , Connecticut coach Randy Edsall and Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville.

Prior to joining Texas Tech, Tuberville spent a decade at Auburn, resigning after a 5-7 season in 2008.

Miami has also shown interest in Nebraska coach Bo Pelini, but reports on his interest have been mixed.
