BCS Projection: TCU Still At No. 3 But Looking Stronger

BCS Evolution projects the following standings when the new BCS standings are released this evening:

1. Oregon Ducks
2. Auburn Tigers
3. TCU Horned Frogs
4. Boise State Broncos
5. LSU Tigers
6. Nebraska Cornhuskers

The top four does not change from last week, but the point margins should. TCU trailed Boise in both polls last week but passed them with their strong performance at Utah Saturday. That meant a lead of less than .01, a number that should grow significantly this week. Auburn will also be aided by passing Boise in the AP poll.

BCS Evolution projects these standings if the top teams go unbeaten to finish the season:

Auburn
Oregon
TCU
Boise State
Auburn (1 loss SEC Champion)
Oregon (1 loss)
LSU (SEC Champion)

It is hard to predict voter behavior, since some will let possible outcomes affect their votes. But if things don't change, this development would be huge for TCU. It means that they only need a loss from Auborn or Oregon to potentially qualify for a national title game. BCS Chaos!
