The latest AP top 25 NCAA basketball rankings are out and two Texas teams climbed this week. The Baylor Bears, who were ranked 17th in last week's poll, have moved up five spots into the 12th spot this week after going 2-0 last week, improving to 3-0 on the season. The Texas Longhorns, who weren't ranked last week, moved into the top 25 this week after defeating the Illinois Illini and only narrowly losing to the fifth-ranked Pittsburgh Panthers.
Baylor will play only one game this week, hosting the Lipscomb State Bisons on Monday night as they look to improve to 4-0 on the season behind Quncy Acy and Perry Jones.
The Longhorns will play twice this week and look to move their record to 5-1 on the season. The Longhorns will host Sam Houston State on Tuesday before hosting the Rice Owls on Saturday. Neither Sam Houston State or Rice is ranked.
The Big 12 has two teams in this week's top 10. Kansas State is the highest ranked team from the Big 12, being ranked No. 4 nationally. The Kansas Jayhawks are ranked sixth.
