(Sports Network) – Andy Dalton threw for 240 yards and four touchdowns, three of those to Jeremy Kerley, as the third-ranked TCU Horned Frogs topped the San Diego State Aztecs, 40-35, at Amon Carter Stadium.
Dalton completed 21-of-36 passes and Matthew Tucker had 22 carries for 131 yards for the Horned Frogs (11-0, 7-0 Mountain West) who clinched a share of the Mountain West title with the win.
Waymon James added 102 yards and a score on 23 touches and Kerley wound up with 85 yards on eight receptions.
Ryan Lindley threw for 220 yards on 11-of-26 passing with two touchdowns, but was intercepted twice and Vincent Brown caught four passes for a game-best 167 yards, including two receiving scores, for the Aztecs (7-3, 4-2 MWC), who saw their four-game win streak halted.
The Aztecs scored the game’s first two touchdowns but the Horned Frogs countered with 37 unanswered points and held on late in the fourth quarter to seal their 24th consecutive regular-season victory.
