Tim Lincecum Or Roy Halladay: Whose Start Was Better?

New, 9 comments

We've seen some excellent pitching performances in the first eight games of the LDS in each league. Cliff Lee was awesome in Game 1 in the Rangers win over the Rays. His performance was overshadowed by Halladay's no hitter against the Reds, only the second no hitter in postseason history. The next day, Tim Lincecum took the mound and fired off a two hit, 14 strikeout shutout.

This made me wonder if Lincecum or Halladay had the better start. According to Game Scores, Lincecum was narrowly better, posting a score of 96 against Halladay's 94. Still, Halladay pitched only the second no hitter in playoff history.

I'm curious as to who everybody thinks had a better start this week, Lincecum or Halladay. My vote is going to Lincecum. Six more strikeouts and yeah, two more hits, but it's just a more dominant effort overall.
