According to Richard Durrett, David Murphy will start in LF for the Texas Rangers on Saturday as the Rangers look to sweep the Rays and advance to the ALCS.
↵↵↵Murphy worked out on Friday and said he felt 90 percent, which is certainly good enough to play nine innings in the field. He said he ran hard after fly balls and challenged himself with hard cuts and breaks on balls. The strained left groin held up through all of it.
↵“After what I did today, I can definitely go nine innings,” Murphy said. “I didn’t want to start and then have to be taken out. There are no guarantees, but I feel good and I’m ready to go.”

Murphy has been out since September 29th when he strained his groin against the Mariners.
