NFL Week 8: Cowboys, Kitna Look For First Home Win

The Dallas Cowboys will look to get their disappointing season back on track this Sunday in Dallas as they host the 3-4 Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jon Kitna will start at quarterback for the injured Tony Romo. Romo suffered a broken clavicle which will not require surgery but will require a healing time of 6-8 weeks. While Dallas has yet to place Romo on injured reserve, it's unlikely that he'll return to the Cowboys this year.

Kitna last started since he was a member of the 2008 Detroit Lions - a team that went 0-16. Kitna completed 16 of 33 passes in relief of Romo on Monday night for 187 yards and a pair of touchdowns to Dez Bryant in the loss to the New York Giants.

The Cowboys are still searching for their first home win in Week 8 - something that would have been inconceivable as training camp broke. Dallas had aspirations of playing in the Super Bowl - which would have been a home game for him since Cowboys Stadium will host Super Bowl XLV.

The Jaguars will look to even up their record at 4-4 on Sunday. Jaguars starting quarterback David Garrard is listed as probable for the contest. He missed the Jaguars' Week 7 game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a concussion.

While he may be considered a fantasy bust this season, the offense for Jacksonville will likely go through running back Maurice-Jones Drew, who has rushed for 510 yards and a touchdown on the season. Containing him and tight end Marcedes Lewis, who has 23 receptions for 275 yards and five touchdowns on the season, will be necessary if the Cowboys are to register their first home win of the season.

Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. EDT, 12:00 p.m. CDT. Televised coverage can be found on CBS.
