Giants Set World Series Rotation

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Giants rotation will be exactly what most expected. RHP Tim Lincecum will start games one and five*, RHP Matt Cain will start games two and six*, LHP Jonathan Sanchez will start games three and seven*, and rookie phenom Madison Bumgarner will start game four.

The same post includes a quote from Bruce Bochy indicating the Giants will most likely stick with Juan Uribe at third and Edgar Renteria at short, like they did for most of the NLCS. That would put Pablo Sandoval on the bench, but I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t still see some playing time.

Bochy also says he hasn’t even thought about the issue of DH yet. Tim Kawakim of the San Jose Mercury News thinks it will be Pat Burrell against righties and Sandoval against lefties. That would mean Sandoval only in a potential game five, against Cliff Lee.
