Mack Brown Is A Little Down

Mack Brown is pretty distraught after his team's (second) embarrassing home loss to Iowa State Saturday. Some quotes, from SportsDayDFW:

His mouth was quivering with anger and his words were short and straight to the point in the post-game press conference. He even said that he felt like going out into the empty stadium and just screaming at the top of his lungs.

"What you can do is scream at all of them," Brown said. "But tonight, I'm going to go home, clean up, take a shower and then sit down and watch film to see what went wrong."

Brown said that he was "terrified" during pre-game warmup because his team looked arrogant and cocky.

"They were not ready to play," he said. "I was ready to play, but they were not ready to play."

"I don't think it's talent. I think it's attitude," Brown said of the Longhorns' biggest problem. "We're better than they are (physically). But they fought better than we did. And that's what is disappointing. There's no way to hide from that."

Brown also took issue with his assistant coaches, saying he needed to review lots of things before the next team meeting, because he is at a point where "you can't trust your team and you can't trust your coaches ... They're not getting (players) ready to go."

Coaches express frustration with their players pretty often, but it's not very often that you hear a head coach throw his assistants under the bus like that.
