Brett Favre May Sit For Vikings Against Cowboys

When the Dallas Cowboys head up to Minnesota this weekend to take on the Vikings, Brett Favre might be on the sidelines instead of under center.

Favre has been bothered by an ailing right elbow, something that has clearly affected his play this year. As Rob Phillips points out, Favre has thrown seven picks which matches his total from the entire 2009 season.

Favre did not practice on Wednesday, which is likely troublesome for the Vikings. Wide receiver Randy Moss admitted after the Vikings loss to the Jets that he was not completely familiar with the Vikings offense and that he was lost when Minnesota resorted to their two-minute offense.

Phillips also said:

Favre told reporters the elbow hasn't gotten worse, but it hasn't really gotten better, either. He needs the reps, but he knows rest is the best treatment.

"I don't want to play just to play," he [Favre] said.

We likely won't know until Sunday if Favre will start against the Cowboys or not as the Vikings will likely be coy with their injury report but it's a situation worth monitoring for Cowboys and Vikings fans alike.
