Chip Brown tweeted today that former Texas Longhorn quarterback Colt McCoy will start for the Cleveland Browns this weekend when they head into Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers. Both Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme are awful injured with bad quarterback disease high ankle sprains, leaving Eric Mangini little to no choice but to start Colt McCoy.
There were rumors during training camp that McCoy would be cut by the Browns but none of those rumors came to fruition. The plan apparently was to have McCoy hold the clipboard the entire year on the sidelines but that will not be the case as he'll be thrust into a starting role in Pittsburgh.
↵I'll be rooting for McCoy to do well, especially since it's against the Steelers, but this one could get ugly.
