The Texas Rangers dropped two of three this weekend to the Seattle Mariners, but their return to the playoffs is all but secured going into the final few games of the regular season. Texas currently holds a four-game lead over the Oakland A's with 10 games to play. Since Oakland currently holds the second AL Wild Card, that four-game lead also comes into play if Oakland catches Texas.
The West will be decided between Oakland and Texas, as they play each other seven times in the final 10 games, starting Monday night at Texas. The third-place Angels can also get involved, as they play Texas three times in between those seven games.
